Sunland Cattle wins Net Feed Intake Award

Posted on June 14th, 2022

To be awarded First Place in the Net Feed Intake Award and the Overall Profitability Sire is quite humbling and we wish to thank Stockyard at Kerwee for running this feedlot program and the Australian Wagyu Association for sponsoring this program.  Net feed intake is a heritability trait that we consider important to be bred into our herd.  As Wagyus are fed in the feedlot for 400 days, it is imperative that net fed intake be taken into account for cost effectiveness of feed conversion to weight gain thus improving the profitability of producing Wagyu, whilst being more environmentally sustainable.
